For 2009, TrailBlazer receives standard Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity and three new exterior colors: Silver Ice Metallic, Silver Moss Metallic and Sand Beige Metallic.

Available in two- or four-wheel drive configurations and equipped in LT trim, the Trailblazer is propelled by a powerful and efficient Vortec 4200 in-line six-cylinder engine which is joined to a smooth-shifting Hydra-Matic 4L60 four-speed automatic gearbox.

Underway, the midsize Chevrolet SUV is smooth and responsive, with predictable and reassuring handling in almost every situation.

The TrailBlazer rides on a body-on-frame vehicle structure which serves as a robust foundation for the SUV's control hardware. Suspension components include an independent double A-arm configuration up front, with 46-mm shocks and a 34-mm stabilizer bar. At the rear, a five-link solid axle works with 36-mm shocks and a 34-mm stabilizer bar for world class handling and control.

Inside the cabin, occupants are spoiled by the high level of luxury and creature comforts. Outward visibility is excellent, with a full complement of analog gauges -- speedometer, tachometer, oil pressure, volts, fuel and water temperature. The odometer is digital.

Thoughtful touches abound -- from the two dash mounted power points to seat mounted safety belts for driver and front passenger and ample storage space and cupholders. Entry and exit are enhanced by wide doors and strategically placed hand grips at each door.

Rear seat passengers enjoy special attention, with separate controls mounted at the back of the center console for ventilation, audio jacks for headphone, two power points and a dual cupholder. The 60/40 split rear seat is of the flip/fold variety. The headrest flips back when folded flat with the cargo floor. It does not have to be removed and stored separately.
