Wichita, Kansas began as a trading post on the Chisholm Trail in the 1860s. Today, it is the largest city in Kansas and the state's center for culture, media, and trade. The Wichita Eagle began publication in 1872 and is the most widely distributed paper in Kansas. Wichita also has the largest airport in the state, the Dwight D.
